GSRIyaz 1.0.6

GSRIyaz is a music education application developed by Ishmeet Singh, a GSRI (Gurmat Sangeet Research Internship) 2023 intern from Texas. The initial release encompasses seven distinct tools: Translator, Notes2Raag, Raag Quest, Ear Training, Sur Abhyas, Alankars, and Layakari. The Translator tool enables users to select from 31 raags featured in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, along with various scales such as C#, D#, and A#. This feature displays the Aaroh and Avroh of the chosen raag in the selected scale, serving as a valuable resource for instrument tuning and quick reference of notes.

With the Notes2Raag tool, users can input three or more notes to receive a list of raags that incorporate those specific notes.

The Sur Abhyas tool facilitates the generation of random sequences of notes and phrases, offering users an opportunity for creative practice.

Through the Alankars tool, individuals can compose and rehearse alankars using selected notes, thereby enhancing their compositional skills.

The Layakaari tool is designed for practicing taal jaatis and chhands; it generates random note sequences in selected jaati (for instance, 3-3-2 or 4-4) based on an eight-note phrase.

Ear Training is emphasized as a fundamental aspect of music education, allowing users to listen and recognize both sur and taal.

Lastly, Raag Quest encourages active listening by presenting audio clips for users to identify the corresponding raag. The latest updates (releases 1.0.5 and 1.0.6) include additional questions for this tool, further enriching the learning experience.
